Thyme Lemonade

Mama's Gotta Bake

As I was driving down the main thoroughfare in my community today, I spotted a group of kids, I would say about 10 or 11 years old, yelling and waving frantically at me to stop.  They had set up a lemonade stand with an array of handrawn signs, on the corner of this particular intersection. How could I drive by this group of young entrepreneurs without purchasing the product that they had obviously spent hours concocting. I would be forever known as “the mean lady”.

When I pulled over to the curb and got out of my car, I could see sighs of relief on their tiny faces. Yes! A customer. I ordered up a glass of their homemade brew, and when I opened my wallet to pay, I realized I had just blown my entire wad at the supermarket on this evening’s dinner.  Oh geez, was this really happening…

With a music awards red carpet, you just never know what you are going to get. However, with this year’s Billboard Music Awards, I was pleasantly surprised. At least for the most part… you know there’s always a couple crazies in every crew! Between gowns that I am severely jealous of {hello Carrie!!}, beautiful makeup {hello Zooey!!}, and super funky fun hair {hello Lacey!!}. I was loving so much… Here are my favorites from the evening…

film photos from lately

little things + big stuff

One of my goals for my 24th year of life is to take more film photos.

I love anxiously waiting to see how photos will turn out. I love the graininess that film naturally gives photos. And, though it’s expensive to buy film and pay developing fees, I really like the permanency of printed photos.

I fondly remember nights sitting in my parents’ laundry room going through the boxes of photos by mom has stored there. The little glimpses of my parents before I was born and of me before I remember truly fascinated me. And I just really, really love the idea of my future children and grandchildren being able to do the same.

These are some photos from my most recent roll of film:

Internet cafe and the nonsense I made

It has been a long time since I rented a personal computer at Internet Cafe in our local town in the Philippines. For no concrete reason or whatever nut it is that came to my mind, I happen to asked myself, “Why is it called internet cafe when it doesn’t offer cafe latte, or any other similar drinks?” Is it only here that doesn’t offer lattes. Or the country is too poor enough  afford a drink outside home while surfing the internet. Or cafe’s really does mean Shop only.

I maybe too literal but, I just really want to know. I maybe too shallow but I am laughing at the words and questions I typed above. Hahaha I don’t know if everything I said goes right.

Then, perhaps, I guess this curiosity happen to came when I no longer can wait for something, simile at this time. I am really about to have my hair rebond at Jamaica Salon today, but I came too early for the opening! Haha although it is already noon, so it is the stylist that is late. So then,I decided to kill my time here at the cafe. Hoping her to arrive the soonest time because I am really running out of things to do here. Haha
